BIRD construction was selected as the construction manager, and DIALOG, B+H Design were selected as the architects due to their vast experience and success in multiple sectors and challenging projects.¬†Level-Tech is well regarded as one of BC’s Best and can help with consultation services, specifications, and samples to help bring your vision to life.

Level-Tech Concrete Systems was selected as the polished concrete contractor for this project after providing the best mock up and system available. The polished concrete topping was a must due to the large spans in the hallways which had deviations of up to 2″ in some areas. Level-Tech was able to provide an innovative way of pre filling areas in order to create a monolithic floor during the pours, including pours of up 12,000 sq ft in one go without any pour breaks. Level-Tech created a mixing station that helped tremendously keep the flow of pouring going as it was a 1/2″ polished concrete topping that was customized to have an integral light colour with a custom blend of aggregates ranging from 1/4″-3/8″.

Level-Tech also introduced their pore filling product on this project which is an essential part of any Polishable Topping system, it creates a slurry that fills in the pours to minimize the pin holing that occurs with toppings. The finish was a low-mid sheen with exposure to the aggregate. The amount of detail involved was challenging, there were pre set wood pillars that had to be polished around and countless glass partitions. The biggest difference with a good quality and high quality polished finish comes back to the edge work. The project’s countless unique materials and design came together with the help of this integral flooring component.
